Coming up this week we are excited to have Tuhon Tim Waid.  Tuhon Tim Waid is the leading recognized Instructor of Pekiti-Tirsia Kali today under Supreme Grandmaster, Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje, Jr., and is President of the Pekiti-Tirsia Kali System Global Organization (PTKGO), the official representative organization of the Pekiti-Tirsia system worldwide.

Tim began his study of authentic Filipino Martial Arts during service in the U.S. Marine Corps while stationed in the Republic of the Philippines.  During this time he trained under several veterans of WWII USAFFE and USAFIP, NL Guerrilla Forces, and also with several notable Grandmasters of Filipino Martial Arts styles.  With more than 20 years of continual training with Grand Tuhon Gaje, including 5 years of private instruction in the Phlippnes in the advanced systems of Pekiti-Tirsia Kali, Tim Waid is the only instructor certified in the original systems of Doce Methodos, Contradas, and Contra-Tirsia Dubla-Dos.  He is the first instructor promoted to the rank of Mandala by Grand Tuhon Gaje and is recipient of the Sumakwilan Award for Excellence in Instructional Leadership and the Grand Tuhon Conrado B. Tortal Crimson Award for developing the official Close-Quarters-Combat system for the Philippine Marine Corps (PMC) Force Reconnaissance Battalion.  This system, the Military Edged-Impact Weapon system, is now the official Martial Arts System of the Philippine Marine Corps and other Armed Forces of the PHilppines (AFP) units.

As Director of Survival Edge Systems/Pekiti-Tirsia Tactical Training Institute, Tim Waid is responsible for all tactical training curriculum of the Pekiti-Tirsia system.  He instructs military units and law enforcement agencies worldwide n operator/officer survival and specialized tactical training programs that include the Military Edge-Impact Weapon System for Special Operations Forces, the Law Enforcement Defensive Tactics Safety System, and SWAT Team CQC.  He currently serves as a consultant and tactical training instructor to the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, government agencies, and private businesses.

Tim Waid served with distinction in the U.S. Marine Corps as an Infantry Platoon Sergeant and Intelligence Sergeant in the Army National Guard.
